John Gideon Millingen (–) was a British army surgeon and author. He was the brother of James Millingen and an uncle of Julius Michael Millingen. Born in Westminster to parents of Dutch descent, Millingen was educated in Paris where he achieved his medical degree.

He became an assistant surgeon in the British Army inserving in the Peninsular War and won a medal at Waterloo and.

Millingen, John Gideon (DNB00) (cf. his Recollections of Republican France). He matriculated at the École de Médecine, and after studying under Sue and Boyer obtained a medical degree. On 26 Jan. he joined the British army as assistant-surgeon in the 97th foot (Queen's Own), and was ordered to Egypt.
